Blog - Iceland - Day 1

We spent our first day in Iceland touring around the city of Reykjavik on foot and by bus. The Harpa Concert and Conference Center was a beautiful building and we were able to tour most of it for free. For more information on Harpa visit: www.visitreykjavik.is/harpa-concert-and-conference-center

After visiting the Harpa building we continued to tour the city on foot, working our way to the tower of Hallgrimskirkja Church, which can be seen from most of the city. More information on the church is available here: www.visitreykjavik.is/hallgrimskirkja-church

We then found a nice, less expensive place to eat for lunch and then hopped on the city sightseeing hop-on hop-off bus. The bus took us around the city and up to Perlan, a hot water storage facility for geothermal hot water. In 1991 they added a dome and observation deck to the storage tanks which provided an excellent view of the city. For more information visit: www.visitreykjavik.is/pearl
